Overclocking workstation motherboard: ASUS P6T6 WS RevolutionAuthor: Vedran DakicDate: 30 Apr 2009
It's been awhile since we tested some workstation boards and although this one isn't strictly that - here we go. By some strange chance, we got our hands on ASU P6T6 WS Revolution board, a product that's really packed with features for the workstation market. No matter if we're talking about its four PCI-Express slots or other available options, from the looks of it, this is set to be a high-class product from the very start. Let's see how it does.Although this might be a bit strange, we decided to make this one a bit different. Most of the workstation motherboards that played with so far (Tyan, Supermicro) were boards for AMD's Opterons, and they aren't really some overclocking products so we thought we'd give this one a spin. It's a bit shorter in terms of test numbers, but fun to read nevertheless. We did rounds and rounds of testing in quest for ultimate single and multithreaded performance. Let's take you through that, with a lot of pictures. We've used a retail Core i7 920 CPU, coupled with 3x2GB Corsair DDR3-1333 memory, CoolIt Domino ALC cooler, PCP&C Turbocool 1kW power supply, WD Raptor 150GB and NVIDIA's GTX280 VGA.
